Bosses and Special Mountains

Special mountains are progression checks. Some are timed damage checks, some are artifact gates, and the final spire checks a required artifact set.

ProblemPreparation
The timer expires.Prestige earlier, then return with a focused damage branch and burst tools instead of a wide economy build.
Damage looks high but the check still fails.Watch the timed mountain's health bar. If dens, walls, or loose hazards are eating most attacks, add direct mountain burst or temporarily stop chasing side targets.
Boss-wall visuals are confusing.Treat walls and boss decorations as part of the special mountain scene, not as normal dens.
The gate asks for artifacts.Stop pushing normal mountain levels and finish the artifact checklist first.
You are dying to hazards during the push.Buy runner dodge, shields, anti-rock tools, and enough hauling support so ore does not pile up while you race the timer.
Build DirectionUse
Demolition earlyUse Demodwarves with Efficient Delivery, Tightly Packed Package, and Lightweight Casing for early timed burst.
Artillery burstUse Great Duke Cannon with Rapid Cannonade, Devastating Payload, Ground Nuke, or Air Strike once the mithril/gold cost is affordable.
Focused fire or projectile lineFor fire, build Flamers with Rapid Ignition, Searing Wounds, The Great Pyre, and Infernal Symphony. For projectiles, use Harpoon Ballista with Lubed Crank, Monster Bane, Multi-shot, and Flaming Bolt.
Mithril and artifact supportHelps if the check is blocked by missing rare currency or required artifacts rather than raw damage.
Failed CheckReturn With
Goblin King PeakReturn with a focused early burst branch: Demodwarves with cooldown/damage support, or a funded fire/projectile line. Do not spread gold across every building.
Triple Seal GateReturn with Ruby Key, Sapphire Key, and Emerald Key kept. More damage does not solve a missing-key gate.
Dragon's PeakReturn with better timed damage and enough hauling that reward drops do not clog the run after the clear.
Architect's SummitReturn with direct mountain burst and enough den/hazard control that side targets do not absorb the whole timer.
Balrogg's PitReturn with a late damage package and Forge/Spelunker economy already running so the reward path can be used.
The Great World SpireReturn with the full Great World Spire checklist; this is an artifact gate before it is a damage check.
